We will be offering workshops for Pennywhistle, Ukulele, Steel Drum & Mountain Dulcimer and registration will include all workshops, jams, and handouts. We are happy to be joined this year by Dave Haas, a talented, enthusiastic instructor for Mountain Dulcimer.

Sharrie - UKULELE:
Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced player, have fun as we progress through the week with workshops that will focus on different strumming techniques, learning to play a little melody which will help us to start finger-picking, as well as performance skills, playing with a band, singing WHILE playing, a little improvisation and tips and tricks to help you advance your skills!
Take home practice tips, and techniques to enhance our playing. We’ll work on ukulele duets, try some harmonics, and add percussion to our playing as well. Each day we’ll learn new tunes, with chords and strums, intros and endings, ways to arrange with other players and singers! We always appreciate your input for new tunes and anything else that interests you!
Guy: PENNYWHISTLE:
Whether you’re a new beginner or a seasoned player, we’ll have lots of new information, tunes, technique, practice methods, a collection of warm-up exercises that will stretch your playing skills, and with all that - fun! Guy will keep you entertained, which may help you to focus on skills and not on the process! We’ll work on playing with a band, add some penny whistle duets to our repertoire, and even improvise a little as we work on chord progressions and tunes. We always appreciate your input for new tunes, wardrobe ideas and anything else that interests you!
Guy: STEEL DRUM:
This exciting addition to the folk world is a fun, rhythmic and melodic instrument that is easy to master and adds the unique sounds of the islands to any style of music! The “Jumbie Jam” steel drum which Guy will be teaching, is made in the USA and has an amazing and ’in tune’ sound that is unique to Panyard-brand instruments. We’ll get everyone started with review and then jump right into playing tunes & chords with attention to rhythm as the “drummer in the band”. We’ll be playing with other instruments in real band settings, and we’ll go as far as time allows to hone our skills with licks, melodic runs, and improvisation!
